What Equipment I'd Like Next

I'm using Pro Tools more and more now for loops / programming / clicks on stage Sundays in our worship services. I'm running an older version of the software that "technically" is not supposed to work with my computer's operating system...as a result, Pro Tools crashes on a regular basis.

So, I'm hoping to upgrade to the latest version of Pro Tools that is designed to work with my computer's OS and then maybe my days of crashing in the middle of service will end.

Better Than Drugs

I was listening to a song this morning by the band, Skillet. It's their song entitled "Better Than Drugs." I laughed and made a joke with someone, that's a funny way to offer praise to God, by telling Him that He's better than drugs...then I looked up the lyrics and I was actually moved by them. I enjoy Skillet's music, but I'm probably not their "target audience" and as I read these lyrics with their target audience in mind I had a completely different take on the song. Why don't you read these lyrics and comment if you so desire.

Better Than Drugs / by Skillet

Feel your every heartbeat
Feel you on these empty nights
Calm the ache, stop the shakes
You clear my mind
You're my escape
From this messed up place
'Cause you let me forget
You numb my pain

How can I tell you just all that you are
What you do to me

You're better than drugs
your love is like wine
Feel you comin' on so fast
Feel you comin' to get me high
You're better than drugs
Addicted for life
Feel you comin' on so fast
Feel you comin' on to get me high

Feel you when I'm restless
Feel you when I cannot cope
You're my addiction, my prescription, my antidote
You kill the poison
Ease the suffering
Calm the rage when I'm afraid
To feel again
How can I tell you just all that you are
What you do to me

Feel your every heartbeat
Feel you on these empty nights
You're the strength of my life

Feel your every heartbeat
Feel you on these empty nights

Feel your every heartbeat
Feel you come to get me high

Looking Forward to Tomorrow

I'm looking forward to tomorrow...here's why. I am blessed to have a wonderful acoustic guitar, but that incredible instrument has been broken for a while now and I've not been able to play it. Tomorrow I get it back from my Luthier and I'm really looking forward to playing it again this Sunday for worship!

Here's a picture of my beautiful instrument.
